Please submit your abstracts on-line no later than Wednesday, 30th November, 2006.
Submission of an abstract confirms your commitment, if accepted, to present, register and pay for your attendance at the Congress.
General Guidelines
- Abstracts must be submitted in English
- To ensure that the selection procedure is as unbiased as possible, all abstract submissions received will be reviewed in complete anonymity.
- Submissions not conforming to established guidelines will not be reviewed.
- Notification of acceptance will be sent by e-mail to presenting authors in January 2007. Scheduling details and instructions for oral and poster presentations will be included with this correspondence.
- Authors whose abstracts are accepted must register to attend the Congress. Failure to do so will result in exclusion from the meeting’s final programme.
- Only the name of the presenting author will appear in the meeting’s final programme.
- The Scientific Committee reserves the right to decide the format of presentation on the basis of time and space available.
- All accepted abstracts will be published in the Congress abstract book. All presented papers and posters will be published in the proceedings and/or on CD.
- Authors retain the copyright of abstracts and presented papers and posters but permit Autism Europe to publish abstracts and presented papers and posters.
Submission Procedure
- Entire abstract, including the title, must not exceed 2000 characters in length, including spaces (approx. 300 words).
- The title should be concise and indicate the content of the abstract; maximum length is 255 characters.
- Abstracts should be organised according to the following paragraph headings, which must appear in the abstract (see Sample below):
- Background
- Objectives
- Methods used
- Results (summarised)
- Conclusions
- Sponsors
- Authors are required to disclose their source of funding (commercial or grant). Enter this information below the abstract under the item ‘Sponsors’.
- It is the responsibility of the author(s) to report any real or perceived conflict of interest or any other potentially biasing factors.
- Abstracts must be accompanied by a brief CV of the presenting author; maximum length is 650 characters, including spaces.
- The presenting author must submit full contact information; an e-mail address is required. The presenting author is indicated by checking the tick box next to their name on the list of authors.
- Classify your abstract by indicating the Category that reflects the content of your abstract (see below). Classification is limited to one Category only.
- Abstracts will be printed exactly as they are submitted. Please be sure to add all authors in the system and to spell-check and edit your abstract prior to submission. No edits can be made to abstracts once they are submitted.
- E-mail acknowledgement confirming receipt of your abstract will be received immediately following submission. Please make a note your abstract submission number for further reference.
